Der Wirtschaftsrat versteht sich als das Wirtschaftsnetzwerk der SG Dynamo Schwerin. Seine Aufgabe sehen wir dabei nicht nur in der Unterstützung und Förderung der wirtschaftlichen und sportlichen Entwicklung der SG Dynamo Schwerin und der Intensivierung der Beziehungen seiner Mitglieder untereinander. Den Mitgliedern wird darüber hinaus eine Plattform geboten, welche es ihnen ermöglicht, direkte Kontakte zu Vertretern aus Wirtschaft und Sport herzustellen und zu pflegen.

Als Wirtschaftsnetzwerk fördert er die wirtschaftlichen Interessen seiner Mitglieder ebenso wie die der SG Dynamo Schwerin, mit dem er durch vielfältiges Engagement eng verbunden ist. Gleichwohl ist er ein Gremium des Vereins.

Die ersten regelmäßigen Fußballspiele in Schwerin fanden ab 1900 statt, doch es fehlte an einem entsprechenden Platz. So wurden vor allem die Exerzierplätze in Schwerin von den Fußballspielern genutzt, wenn diese nicht vom Militär benötigt wurden. Nach dem Verkauf und Abbruch der Brauerei Paulshöhe ergab sich dann die Chance für einen Fußballplatz in Schwerin. Mit Unterstützung der Stadt und vor allem einer Bank entstanden auf der Paulshöhe neben dem Konzert- und Biergarten neue Fußball- und Tennisfelder. Die Einweihung des Sportplatzes wurde am 20. August 1922 gefeiert. (laut anderen Quellen 20. August 1920) Aus dem ehemaligen Eiskeller der Brauerei wurde das Clubrestaurant des Sportplatzes.

Mit zwei Spielfeldern, einer 400 Meter langen Aschenbahn, mit sechs Tennisplätzen und 33.000 Quadratmetern war der Sportplatz Paulshöhe seinerzeit eine der größten Sportstätten des Freistaates Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Zwischen der Aschenbahn und den Fußballfeldern wurde 1924 eine Zuschauertribüne aus Holz errichtet, die heute nicht mehr vorhanden ist. Unter der Tribüne hielt der Platzwart auch Schafe, die den Rasen kurz hielten. Am 20. Mai 1925 wurde neben dem Sportplatz das Konzerthaus Paulshöhe mit neuer Bewirtschaftung neu eröffnet. Das sogenannte Torhaus wurde 1927 errichtet. Die beiden Fußballfelder waren Heimstätte des 1903 gegründeten Schweriner FC 03. Der Club gehörte zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des 1904 entstandenen Mecklenburgischen Fußball-Bundes.

1938 wurde das erweiterte Vereinsheim mit Gaststätte eingeweiht. 1944 erfolgte durch die Machthaber die Auflösung des Vereins. Der Zweite Weltkrieg hatte den Spielverkehr in Schwerin zum Erliegen gebracht, die Spieler kämpften und fielen an den Fronten, der Fußball verabschiedete sich für wenige Jahre aus dem Leben der Schweriner. Im November 1944 wurden drei Baracken auf dem Sportplatz gebaut. Hier arbeiteten zirka 400 Kräfte für das Werk, größtenteils Zwangsarbeiter, die Uniformen für die Wehrmacht herstellten.

Im Sommer 1945 dienten die Baracken dann als Flüchtlingsunterkunft. 1953 gab die Sowjetarmee den Sportplatz an die Stadt zurück. Eine Erneuerung der Anlage begann noch im gleichen Jahr. 1953 gründete sich Dynamo Schwerin. Die Stehplätze hinter dem Nordtor wurden terrassenförmig für 3000 Zuschauer ausgebaut, an beiden Längsseiten wurden Terrassen für je 1.000 Zuschauer angelegt. Die zweite Spielfläche wurde 1955 der Nutzung freigegeben. Seit Mitte der Sechziger Jahre gehörte Schwerin zu den Spitzenteams der DDR-Liga. Und somit erfuhr auch Paulshöhe Besucherrekorde.

Noch einmal erlebte das Stadion Sternstunden des Fußballs. Die Schweriner stürmten 1989/90 bis ins Finale des FDGB-Pokals. Dadurch spielten zum Beispiel im Viertelfinale und Halbfinale auf Paulshöhe der 1. FC Magdeburg und der 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig.^[2]

Im September 1949 wollte die Stadt einen Kulturpark auf das Gelände zu setzen. Es fehlte jedoch das nötige Geld und so blieb der Sportplatz vorerst erhalten. Nach der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands wurde in den Erhalt des Sportplatzes nicht weiter investiert.

SG Dynamo Schwerin e.V. – Tradition verpflichtet!

Mit dem Jahr 1953 und der Gründung von Sportvereinen der Sicherheitsorgane der DDR beginnt auch die Geschichte der SG Dynamo Schwerin.

1963 gelang der lang ersehnte Aufstieg in die 1. DDR-Liga.

1975 und 1984 erreichte die SG Dynamo Schwerin die Aufstiegsrunde zur höchsten Spielklasse.

Die Beinahe Aufsteiger von 1975 stellten im Oberligaaufstiegsspiel gegen den 1. FC Union Berlin mit 10.900 einen neuen Zuschauerrekord auf. Zwei Punkte fehlten den Dynamos am Aufstieg.

Mit den Pokalfights 1988/1989 stürmten die Dynamos erstmals seit Gründung bis ins FDGB-Pokalviertelfinale.

Im Spieljahr 1989/1990 steht die Fußballwelt Kopf, denn unsere Kicker von der Paulshöhe qualifizieren sich über den 1. FC Magdeburg und Lok Leipzig für das DDR-Pokalfinale gegen den amtierenden DDR Meister SG Dynamo Dresden. Die unglückliche 1:2 Niederlage war schmerzfrei, denn der umbenannte PSV Schwerin spielt im EC der Pokalsieger. David gegen Goliath – PSV Schwerin gegen Austria Wien: Mit 0:2 im Hinspiel und 0:0 im Rückspiel verabschiedeten sich die Schweriner Liga-Fußballer am Tag der Deutschen Einheit mit erhobenem Kopf. Die Jahrhundertmannschaft hat MV würdig vertreten.

In der Sportlerumfrage des Bezirkes Schwerin belegten die Dynamos 1988 den 2. Platz und 1989 und 1990 den 1. Platz.

Mit Andreas Reinke (HSV, FCK, Werder Bremen), Steffen Baumgart (FC Hansa Rostock, VFL-Wolfsburg, Union Berlin), Mathias Stammann (Bayer Leverkusen, VFL Wolfsburg), Mathias Breitkreuz (Arminia Bielefeld, FC Hansa Rostock), Jens Bochert (HSV, 2. Liga Frankreich) spielten 5 Spieler in der Bundesliga.

Am 27.11.2003 erfolgte die Wiedergründung der SG Dynamo Schwerin e.V.

Nach 3 Aufstiegen in Folge gehörte die SGD seit 2007 ununterbrochen der zweithöchsten Spielklasse bis 2021 unseres Landes an.

Im Jahr 2021 erfolgte dann der langersehnte Aufstieg in die Verbandsliga MV.

Am 04.06.2022 folgte direkt der nächste Aufstieg in die Oberliga Nordost.
